Project management plan

Input/Output Group Input/Output Group

The project management plan is the document that defines how you will execute, monitor, and control the project. It contains all the subsidiary plans and baselines to define how you will control each aspect of the project, and how you will manage variances to the plan. It is the key output of the planning process group, and a key input to the last three process groups: executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. It is a formal document that must be authorized by the project sponsor and other necessary parties before work begins on executing the project.
